Who am I?

My name is François, and I'm a software engineer with a passion for building tools that make life easier.

I'm originally from Paris 🇫🇷 but I moved to Tokyo 🗼 in 2005. I've worked in various industries in a variety of roles, from development to project management. I'm always looking for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency.

Other tools I've built include StellarID.io, Epic Forge, Brag Journal and Japan Finance Tools.

Why OffsiteBudget?

I built OffsiteBudget to solve a problem I faced repeatedly as an engineering manager: planning team offsites is incredibly time-consuming and error-prone when done in spreadsheets.

I've seen firsthand how difficult it is to compare different locations, dates, and scenarios fairly. EMs would spend hours in intricate Excel sheets, updating attendee lists, typing in guessed flight prices and ending up with inconsistent estimates to feed into their justification slides.

I wanted to create a tool that would make it easy for anyone to estimate offsite budgets quickly, compare scenarios clearly, and make confident decisions backed by explicit assumptions. With OffsiteBudget, you can focus on what really matters: planning a great event within budget.
